"Faith Without Work is Dead"
Named after its original address, the 101 Club quickly became the local gathering place for AA members, serving as a home for ten productive and joyful years. When the club outgrew its first location, members purchased the land where the clubhouse now stands for $9,000.
On April 1, 1970, construction began—led by countless dedicated members. Even before the building was finished, the spirit of recovery was strong: in September 1970, with just a single light bulb powered by an extension cord from a nearby pole, the very first meeting of the Pompano Men’s Group was held here.
"Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase. "
